Our metal bamboo earrings are available in three different styles which reflect our tagline; Sovereign, Sacred and Staunch. Get ready to arrive at your local stomping grounds with the best hoops you'll ever see.

These earrings are made of stainless steel and it's recommended that they are handled with care, to avoid bending of the metal or breakage. Please avoid storing in direct sunlight and storing in a place where they can be easily scratched or marked.

Artist Statement

These earrings were the most fun to make in my healing journey, purely because it reminded me of my youth. It's so odd to proclaim that, but being a disabled Blackfulla who is also neurodivergent ages you faster with how much ableism and racism, often times also ablenoir, you endure within the colony. Growing up I loved my earrings, specifically my hoops. It was always the Afro and hoop combo that set me for the week, whether they were medium silver hoops or blazing gold bamboo hoops. I would walk around, head in the clouds, flaunting what my ancestors gave me. These earrings were made to not just reflect my personal values and beliefs (which are also implemented in our tagline) but to celebrate Black youth, joy and our unapologetic staunchness. It was a way for me to pay tribute to baby me, the me before disability and the me who became disabled, trying to understand how to navigate the world in a body that was no longer abled. So when you wear these earrings, you stand your ground, you dance on these streets, sing so loud I can hear you from Meanjin; just know these hoops are meant for you, to flaunt all the things your ancestors blessed you with too x
