Artist Statement
All these pins were a mixture of old designs and new, celebrating the life and love of being unapologetically black, expressing our ancestors words, living them and making sure we rise to every occasion with their teachings in mind. All pins also wear curly and kinky hair with pride, a decision made on purpose, to celebrate our ancestral roots through our hair and majik. We celebrate this everyday, with our hair care practices and our traditions tied to how sacred our hair is.
